Goal: To assist, through educational programs and materials, Berea homeowners to reduce their energy use and costs, and to incorporate solar energy systems.
Home energy audit workshop: Participants will learn how to conduct an energy audit of their homes and determine which renovations and repairs will provide the greatest savings of energy and money. Supplies of some of the simpler materials for conservation (e.g., caulk, compact fluorescent bulbs) will be available for purchase at the workshop to facilitate a quick start by the participants in applying their new knowledge to their houses.
Residential solar energy workshop: A workshop demonstrating how to evaluate the potential of a house site for solar energy, and an overview of residential solar energy systems, costs, payback periods, and sources of materials and installation assistance.
