Sale of rain barrels 2- 5 pm.
Bring a dish prepared with ingredients produced within 100 miles of Berea. Please write down your recipe and sources for ingredients. Prizes will be available for the dishes that best illustrate the potential for local eating in Berea.
The 77 Kentucky counties located within 100 miles of Berea have about 7.5 million acres in farms and more than two billion dollars of agricultural sales annually.
2 – 5 pm: Rain barrel sales (including tax)
$63.60 for Sustainable Berea members
$74.20 for non members
(Also available, Amish made clothes drying racks in two sizes)
5 p.m. 100-Mile Pot Luck
Bring a dish prepared with ingredients produced within 100 miles of Berea.
Please write down your recipe and sources for ingredients. Recipes will be published in the Berea 2nd annual 100-Mile Pot Luck Recipe Book.
6 p.m. Speaker: Ouita Michel
The owner/chef of the Holly Hill Inn and the Wallace Tavern of Midway will talk about working with local growers to secure food for her award-winning restaurants.
6:30 The Pot-Luck Raffle: – 21 chances to win. Tickets are $1 each.
Items in raffle include:
- Cats dancing in the rain, -- rain barrel painted by local artist, Heather Richardson
- Two white plastic rain barrels
- One whiskey barrel planter
- One clothes dryer rack
- Six low-flow shower heads
- 10 low impact fluorescent light bulbs
