Office manager/Event coordinator: 20 hours per week

Office Manager/Event Coordinator (Position Filled)
Location: Sustainable Berea office, 107 Grant Street
20 hours per week, some flexibility in schedule
$18/hr, potential for raise after successful completion of probationary period
Start date: As soon as possible
Main duties: Managing flow of paperwork through the office including logging and depositing checks, paying bills, submitting payroll, managing phone and email messages, assisting drop-in people; overseeing events such as Spring Gathering, Victory Garden Blitz, and on-farm gatherings.
Qualifications: Good organizational skills; basic computer skills; ability to learn software such as Little Green Light and QuickBooks; good typing skills; understanding and enthusiasm for the mission of Sustainable Berea and the Berea Urban Farm.
Manager Food is Medicine Project (Position Filled)
Location: Berea Urban Farm, 209 Adams Street
15 to 20 hours per week, must be available Tuesdays 10am to 6pm
$18/hr, potential for raise after successful completion of probationary period
Start date early April; completion end of September unless extension negotiated
Main duties: Harvest, washing, boxing of produce for CSA shares; preparation of sample dishes made from each week’s harvest; preparation of handouts with recipes and nutritional information; prepare weekly email newsletters; interact with CSA members during weekly distribution of shares
Qualifications: Experience in growing and cooking with fresh vegetables; have or are willing to obtain a KY Food Handler’s Card; good typing and writing skills; enjoy interacting with people; understanding and enthusiasm for the concept of Food is Medicine
Farm Assistant (Position Filled)
Location: Berea Urban Farm, 209 Adams Street
40 hours per week
$18/hr, potential for raise after successful completion of probationary period
Start date mid-March; completion end of October unless extension negotiated
Main duties: Assist with the full range of activities required for the operation of a small urban farm including bed prep, planting, weeding, irrigation, pruning, harvest, washing. Help with workshops and interact with visitors.
Qualifications: Significant experience in growing a variety of vegetable, herb and flower crops; able to do demanding physical labor under hot and humid conditions; able to work independently with minimal direct supervision; have respect for the land and enthusiasm for the mission of Sustainable Berea and the Berea Urban Farm.
