Visitors to the Berea Urban Farm
Bringing people to the farm is an essential part of the BUF’s educational approach, whether it is for a workshop, reception, or a self-guided tour. To ensure the safety of our visitors, customers and non-human residents of the farm, we ask that the following rules be observed:
The farm is open 9am to 5pm Monday – Saturday. Please contact the Sustainable Berea office to arrange visits during other times. We will try to accommodate you.

You are welcome to walk anywhere there is permanent grass. Do not walk on mulched or dirt paths or enter high tunnels, the greenhouse, the packing shed or other farm buildings unless you are participating in a workshop or other event that uses these areas.
Our grassed areas are not groomed pathways. We encourage you to contact us with questions and accessibility needs before your visit. Closed-toed, solid footwear is recommended.
Dogs and other pets are not allowed on the farm. If you use a service animal, see our ADA-compliant service animal policy here.

There are three Layens bee hives in the BUF orchard. Please stay at least 10 feet from any hive. If you are allergic to bee stings, you must carry your own epi-pen or other medicine.
You are welcome to ask questions of any staff you see on the farm. If no one is present and you have a pressing question, call 859-893-4594.
Service Animal Policy
We welcome all guests and are committed to providing a positive experience for individuals with disabilities who rely on service animals, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Only dogs or miniature horses individually trained to perform specific tasks related to a person’s disability are recognized as service animals under the ADA; pets and emotional support animals are not permitted anywhere on the premises.
Upon arrival, guests with service animals must check in with a staff member. According to the ADA, staff may ask:

-
is the dog or miniature horse a service animal required because of a disability?
-
what work or task has the service animal been trained to perform?
We are glad that your service animal will allow you to visit the farm and participate in our educational activities.
