Berea Urban Farm
Volunteer Guidelines

Thank you for volunteering! The following guidelines will help you make the best of your time with us on the farm. 
 

What to bring:

  • ~ Wear good sturdy shoes that can get muddy.

  • ~ Consider the weather. For example, if it is sunny you may want a hat, sunscreen lotion and appropriate clothing.

  • ~ Bring a water bottle if you have one. We will have a water station available for refills or a cup if you forget your water bottle. 

 

What not to bring:

  • ~ Your dog. No pets are allowed on the farm.

  • ~ If you are sick please stay home. Volunteer when you feel better!

  • ~ Tobacco is not allowed on the farm.Tobacco can carry the tobacco mosaic virus, which has the potential to infect nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, etc). If you are a smoker, please wash your hands before/upon arriving at the farm.

 

When You Arrive:

  • ~ Upon arrival, all volunteers will sign-in to the Volunteer Sign-In/Out Sheet posted there.

  • ~ In addition, once per year, all volunteers need to complete our Volunteer Waiver & Contact Info Form, either prior to volunteering or at the beginning of your first shift.

  • ~ Bathrooms and a cold water station are available.

  • ~ Children under the age of 12 must be working with an adult at all times; do not leave children unattended.

  • ~ Before leaving, we ask that all volunteers return tools and sign out.
