Garden Planters are back!

Planter distribution is postponed. New dates will be announced here and by email to registered tub recipients.

The Planter Tub Project is a collaboration between the Berea Urban Farm and the Madison County Conservation District (MCCD). The project makes 25-gallon planters filled with soil and compost available to households in Madison County. The planters are made from used cattle feed supplement tubs that have been cleaned and had holes drilled for drainage.

Our goal is to provide another way that families can grow some food, even if they have no garden space. The planters are particularly good for use by kids!

  • Limit one garden planter per household

  • Madison County residents only

  • There is a $5 fee per tub to cover some of the costs to Sustainable Berea, which may be paid when the tub is picked up

Planter tubs may be picked up at the Berea Urban Farm (201 Adams Street) on Wednesday April 12, noon to 2pm or Thursday April 13, 4pm to 7pm. Tubs not picked up during these times will be made available to other people.

All our planter tubs have been reserved, but please register below if you would like to be added to the waitlist. We will notify you after April 13 if there are unclaimed tubs.
