Thanks to everyone who wants to grow food!! Our Garden Planters have all found homes.

Garden Planters are back!

The Garden Planter Project is a collaboration between the Berea Urban Farm and the Madison County Conservation District (MCCD). The project makes 25-gallon planters filled with soil and compost available at no charge to households in Madison County. The planters are used cattle feed supplement tubs that have been cleaned and had holes drilled for drainage.

Our goal is to provide another way that families can grow a bit more food, even if they have no garden space. The planters are particularly good for use by kids!

  • Limit one garden planter per household

  • Madison County residents only

  • If you received a planter tub last year, you may request another this year

Garden Planters may be picked up at the Berea Urban Farm (201 Adams Street) either Saturday April 24 or Saturday May 1, 9am to noon. Please choose a date when you register.
